And now they start a new techno journey in order to praise his majesty The Groove. In march Burdon's aka Octave One launch a new label MS10 & their first big strike is called "The Greater Good".

The concept of MS10 is pretty simple & called "back to the essence of the groove". It's obvious that new generation of electronic music fans would say "no" to "The Greater Good" being in their Ipods. Why? Because they demand tracks to change every 30 seconds & force producers to follow the trendy flow nowadays. In this case Burdon brothers acting like pure musicians who wants to pursue their own visions & thought all around techno music. On other hand, they definitely will be supported by army of dj's starting from Dave Clarke & ending with Robert Hood who'll find in "The Greater Good" one of the key moments for dj set that is called groove.

God bless Blueprint

Blueprint was finally honored as label of the month by RA. In fact, “Heritage” is forth single from mentioned CD. Most of them contained original track & remixes from Ben Sims, Buscemi or Moochi. “Heritage” vinyl is slightly different, because there are two remixes from Nomadico aka DJ Dex & Deviant plus bonus from mighty O.N.O.

Original work from Frank Juncaj aka DJ 3000 & Esteban Adame is based on Motech philosophy of mixing techno with music or roots of different nationalities. Here we have DJ 3000 & Esteban Adame with Mediterranean touch & Latin American touches, respectively. Percussion & main melody are responsible for “oriental” mark in such music. And driving dynamics deliver sound directly on dancefloor. But what differs this music from modern techno is that “Heritage” is full of joy & as I may say fun. It’s not silly or straight to the bone, but it unites people under “dance & music” flag. You can like house, techno or even… salsa & so u will dance to “Heritage” with a smile.

Nomadico or DJ Dex who was responsible for Transmat, Submerge or Los Hermanos’s production made next musical step. His task was to make own interpretation of “Heritage”. Nomadico painted it in dark & intense colors, changed emphasis from percussion to bassline & let music flow. Quality rework.

Deviant’s remix is dedicated to music of Copacabana, when you aren’t in a hurry, you feel yourself comfortable & just enjoy happening. But what I don’t like about his work is vocals, author mixed vocals of adult & teenager, so result is quite strange.

And here comes O.N.O. Japan sensei crafter a massive techno tune. And what so special about it, is that it’s not Berlin, Birmingham or Brussels like techno, but O.N.O. It can be a soundtrack for science-fiction film or for Starcraft 2 game. It unites industrial & melodic elements in techno music. And it sounds very solid. Pure gem.

Artist: DJ 3000 & Esteban Adame

(DJ 3000 myspace, Esteban Adame m-space)

Release: "Heritage"

Label: Motech Records (www.motechrecords.com)

Date: 03.2010

More of that, DJ 3000 (Motech, UR, USA) kindly gave flash interview for Techno.UA blog.

What is the true meaning of the name "Heritage"? Heritage is very easy, the song title has to do with ones own Heritage whatever it is and is the Heritage of Detroit music and continuing the tradition of not only Detroit music but also the Heritage of my own culture and Esteban’s culture while still pushing forward on a sound!

"Heritage" is the forth single from "Galactic Caravan" album. Are you satisfied with overall reactions on your album both from professionals & listeners?

To be honest I never have any expectations because I make music first and foremost for myself and if someone likes it and understands what I am trying to do I cant ask for anything else, but it is hard these days when music is all about trends and looks and I am all for that too but has to be don’t in the right way. I don’t follow any trends but I try to push myself as a producer and trying to always achieve a sound or a idea I have in mind while keeping my heritage and Detroit and world roots in tact.

Reactions overall are mixed good and bad and I don’t mind that because you have to remember everyone has there own taste in music so I don’t make music for the mass people but for myself and that’s all, at the end of the day the song, album, projects, cd vinyl or whatever has my name on it and I want that to be a piece of me and look and sound like me.

What next you’re planning to release? It's driving dynamics get listeners in the world of beautiful music when you forget about such cliches as "techno". And The Reminder get further with acidish sounds & solid programmed music. Basically, tune "Underwater Senses" is an example of contemporary techno music without compromises.

But next track "Coffee First" was more praised by well-known DJ's than "Underwater Senses" & it's obvious why. Maybe for 1,5 minute "Cofee First" progresses with solid bass "what people influenced by modern berlinish sound really like listen to". B1 is like a hidden jam that reveal it's qualities in the middle of action. It's built on contrast between echoes & background melody. It's a game of sound that is called techno music.

Here we witness best Eastern European label's techno production in ages. You can buy it HERE before it isn't sold out. The second vinyl includes a big hit 02.1. Maybe it isn't well programmed like music of Pan Sonic, but it's techno music in it's pure form: raw, metallic & overflowing.

So, the main question sounds like who is behind Architectural? Maybe Christian Wunsch, Oscar Mulero, Reeko or even Funk D'Void who's livin' in Barcelona? Dunno, buy maybe even a newcomer due to 230 people checking his myspace. A newcomer with as may I say good selection of "friends" on myspace including Rush Hour, Delsin, Planet E, Kenny Larkin etc. Anyway, best new name in techno in 2010. Watch out!

Architectural 001

Architectural on myspace: http://www.myspace.com/architecturalrec

Architectural on discogs: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Architectural

Strings of May

It's really important to start this new blog about techno music with Greg Gow's "Pilgrimage EP" for Transmat. For years mr. May was affraid to release his own music, because now as an originator of a genre he got to prove his skills more hardly than an average producer. So, for years he was trying to find another "Strings of life". In other words, an international hit that will be played all over the world starting from Berghain & ending with Ibiza. Finally in 2009 Derrick presented a hit from Greg Gow "The Bridge" (yes, first track from "Pilgrimage EP" is exceptional). Track got everything that makes him timeless: catchy melody, pulsing groove & let's call it atmosphere that immediately transfer "The Bridge" into listener's head.

Original "Strings of life" was released in 1987, so 23(!) years ago.

Derrick May was born in 1963, so he's 47(!) right now.

It can be true that his ears are damaged & his way of life affect on his health that's why next "Strings of life" is really important not just for all the scene, but personally for mr. May.

And to sum all things: "The Bridge" is a connector between techno & more commercial styles of electronic music (check name of a track). But we have to wait to find out if it'll strike or no.

Greg Gow - The Pilgrimage EP

Label: Transmat

Released: Mar 2010

Back to Techno.UA

This blog is dedicated to techтo music in int's vast forms.
Here u will find information/opinion/thoughts about both classic & contemporary touch in techno music.

Geographically this blog is located in Ukraine. In 2009 we only witness coming of Konrad Black, Marcel Dettmann, Jerome Sydenham & Pacou. Nothing more from big variety of techno artists.

On other hand it's possible to support proper techno direction via one & only Ukrainian print magazine called DJam & best Ukrainian clubbing site TopDJ.ua. There techno heads can find out about releases of Solab, Kirk Degiorgio, Robert Hood, DJ Bone or Aux88. Also story continues with gigs full of techno tunes from Delsin, Tresor, Music Man, Sandwell District, Historia Y Violencia etc played strictly from vinyl.

It means that this blog (technoukraine.blogspot.com) is a source for spreading different 'techno mesages'. It's natural development both of society & technology. So let's unite on our way home.

Nick Svyaznoy,

Kiev, Ukraine.

www.myspace.com/milesua
